About
Shane Dimando
A builder and writer, paying attention to what the work can teach us.
I’m interested in the connection between how we work and how we live.
The practical questions often become personal ones. What deserves our attention? How do we keep our commitments? How do we build something useful without letting the work consume the life around it?
This journal is where I make room for those questions. I write about faith, discipline, perspective, and the lessons that emerge while trying to put those things into practice.
The work behind the writing
I build systems, companies, and written work designed to last. Through Dimando & Company, that takes a practical form. In the essays and books, it becomes an effort to put experience into words someone else can use.
You Are Not A Machine grows out of that concern: how to build a deliberate life without measuring your worth by constant output.
I’m also developing Dimando Publishing, a planned organization with Dimando Press as its founding imprint. I want that work to make room for other authors and the things they have to say.
What connects it
I call the connecting idea The Bridge Principle: take care with what you receive, put it to good use, and help someone else carry it forward.
That can mean a clearer system, a carefully preserved story, or a book that stays with its reader. The scale can vary. The responsibility to do the work well remains.
One principle I return to in my own decisions is:
Emotion reacts. Perspective evaluates. Wisdom waits.
I want the writing here to leave room for that pause—to notice, think, and choose a direction with care.
A place to begin
The Field Notes hold shorter observations. The Essays give an idea more room. You can also explore the Projects and Books & Publishing behind the journal.
